Capturing what I see and feel is the basis of where I start with my paintings.

I paint on cradled birch board or Claybord both of which enable me to create textures to I enjoy and to give the paintings more depth. On birch board I use a combination of tissue paper under the first layers of acrylic and then finish the top layers using knife painting and mica flakes.
On claybord I use many layers of Bombay Inks, watercolour which create an ethereal effect that I love, and then scratching techniques to bring the textures out.

I use limited colour palettes to create atmosphere and coherence across the paintings.

Both wild landscapes and nature bring me joy. Neither would exist without the other.
