Fine Art paintings inspired by the magic of wild landscapes
and the beauty of nature.
“For me, painting mirrors the natural growth of landscapes,
starting with a seed and evolving to show depth, texture, and atmosphere.
I find inspiration in the grandeur and raw essence of nature.
Intrigued by its mysteries, I aim to express my feelings from being on location.
Nature's seemingly random unfolding hides a pattern and meaning.
Each brushstroke reflects the intuitive movement visible in wild landscapes
when observed closely.
In those moments, I am truly in my element.”
I gather my inspirations for artworks out on location, usually in a rural setting in Suffolk, Norfolk and Yorkshire, capturing wild landscapes. I also like to get out to the beautiful Suffolk Coast and Heaths OANB for the occasional coastal painting, especially when the heather is in full bloom, or during the autumn when the beautiful birch trees are loosing their leaves.
I also have the pleasure of teaching workshops and courses at Stoke Bridge Workshops in Ipswich. This gives me the chance to demonstrate the joy of painting in watercolour or acrylic, inspiring leisure learners to see the world from a different perspective. Learning watercolours was the turning point for me in my art career, so I love to give back by teaching others the subtleties of painting too.
