Great news!
Cambridge Contemporary Art gallery are holding their annual Mixed Winter Show from October 31st to Christmas Eve and I will have paintings there on show available to buy. This year I am sending them some cute 4x4" paintings as well as larger ones. The paintings will be available to view in the gallery in the gorgeous centre of Cambridge in East Anglia, as well as available to buy online on their site. The gallery is just a stones throw from the famous Kings College.
If you have been following my recent paintings you will recognise this from the 'In the Den' series - these are just 4x4" and can free stand or hang on the wall.
They are painted on deep edge cradled wood panel and feature wildlife, texture and a touch of gold.
There are six in this series featuring foxes and badgers, and they will all be at Cambridge Contemporary Art gallery and online at their site.
Also I will be sending larger paintings from 12x12" to 16x16" in the 'Heartbeats Underground' Series.
I am so happy to have my work in the gallery again this winter. I have been with the gallery many years, and they have always supported my work and my development. They of course have found the pandemic difficult, but I am pleased to say that they are surviving.
In other news, I am discussing an exciting new project in collaboration with an author. It is an illustration project close to my heart and I can't wait to tell you more in the near future.
Otherwise, life carries on in these strange times. Like many other freelance artists, this has been a very difficult year and have suffered 'pandemic fatigue' where my emotions and motivation goes up and down. Fortunately I am quite resilient and practical so I find that when my motivation to be in the studio wanes, I use the time to achieve other things (like de-cluttering the house!!). Motivation to paint can be very difficult without a goal (all other exhibitions and workshops were cancelled this year), which is why the new collaboration project will get me going again.
